A holiday home on the Moselle needs regional partners. We are proud of the partnership with Sascha and his family. So we continue with our home series.
Today we would like to introduce you to Onkel Otto . No, Onkel Otto is not another member of our family business. But we know each other quite well. The Onkel Otto restaurant is a nationwide well-known, home-style restaurant and also a family business with a heart. In the middle of Pomerania, only 8-10 minutes walk from the Mosel Chalets. Sascha Birkenbeil learned and worked as a gourmet chef in upscale restaurants. It was the logical consequence that he took over his parents’ business “Onkel Otto” as head chef and runs it together with his wife Anett.
A conversation with Sascha
We can hardly talk to Sascha in front of his restaurant longer than one sentence at a time, someone he knows always comes by. 
By the way, the food tastes delicious – the regional and seasonal dishes range from rustic home cooking to French cuisine. All dishes can also be picked up. The Onkel Otto Restaurant has a long tradition – a real family business. Sascha and Anett have managed to transport the restaurant into modern times and make it sustainable. Nevertheless, you managed to take the tradition and the important values with you.
Sascha Birkenbeil and Holger grew up on the same street in beautiful Pomerania. They have known each other since childhood. We think that if you want to spend your holiday on the Moselle, you need both – a great holiday home on the Moselle and a great restaurant within walking distance. This partnership is a beautiful example of how to fill a beautiful little place with life and heart.
Incidentally, the “Onkel Otto” restaurant can be reached on foot in about 8-10 minutes from the Mosel Chalets, depending on how much wine you drank before or after ;-).
