We continue with the third part of our homeland series about Pommern on the Moselle. Today with a real and, above all, multiple world champion, who recently even received a lifetime achievement award – Hubertus Vallendar.
Born and raised in Pommern, he has always remained true to his homeland despite international expansion. With a lot of diligence, authenticity and ambition, he became multiple world champion in distilling and has won all important and international awards.
We talked to Hubertus on the sun terrace of our Mosel Chalets in summer. That was really nice, because Holger has known Hubertus since childhood. We could fill pages in terms of his life and the impressive, sometimes very emotional stories behind it.
The Vallendar distillery in Kail, very close to our holiday homes, offers distillery tours, tastings and seminars. Hubertus not only passes on his knowledge in seminars, but also and above all to his successor – son Mario. He is particularly proud of that. Hubertus himself is now a sought-after consultant and speaker and has told us that he will actually take things a little easier in the future. He wants to work hard on his work-life balance

“Vallendar” is therefore a real family business that is currently being passed on to the third generation. All three can be proud of that.
