Why we chose the “Adults Only” concept for our holiday homes and no pets.
If you are planning a holiday home project, many decisions have to be made… – but first about us:
Our small family business currently has two children under the age of 6, a teenager and a baby. We have lived with both dogs and cats. Even with guinea pigs. We love animals very much and are committed to animal welfare.
When we book a holiday ourselves, we sometimes choose a farm holiday, sometimes a 4-5 star club hotel, sometimes private holiday accommodation and sometimes we rent a camper.
If we only travel as adults, let’s choose an adults-only hotel, maybe with a nice spa or a great restaurant. Or we plan a short trip with friends – keyword “parental break”. During the “parental break” we want one thing above all: a change from everyday life. Sleep, eat, drink, sleep, good conversations, time for us, a good book, maybe sightseeing, walks or wellness. And sleep 😉
There are countless offers for every need, for every (travel) concern and for every taste. And we are all free to choose what we feel like.
It would never occur to us to insult an Adults Only property on social media for not allowing children. We would never get upset about accommodations that explicitly only welcome guests with dogs. Or complaining about the lack of rest in a family hotel. That just doesn’t make any sense.
Unfallgefahr
The Mosel Chalets are not very suitable for younger children due to the open design and natural wood (e.g. risk of splinters if you fall on the terrace). The terraces have no railings, the galleries are open and only “secured” with a net. There is no playground at the house, no partition or fence to the street. The bedrooms are compact and there are not enough places to add baby beds. And since the houses are brand new, it was obvious for us to make them accessible to guests who have animal hair allergies, for example.
We didn’t and don’t want to deal with which dog breeds supposedly do not cause allergies or check whether the Rehpinscher from the Müller family actually only sleeps in the basket and (as promised) and not in the bed.
Wenn Gäste direkt nebeneinander wohnen
The three holiday homes are built directly next to each other and the sun terrace runs completely through in front of the three chalets. Of course there is a privacy screen to the neighbors, but the terrace is open. Especially nice: A group can use the three chalets together and enjoy dinner at a long table on the sun terrace, while the sun slowly sets in the valley and bathes the landscape in a beautiful light. Incidentally, that is what all guests love: the sunsets and natural spectacles with a good book, a glass of wine or good conversations with friends. It’s unfortunate when the lively dog from Haus Mosel meets the anxious child from Haus Berg. And that in front of the set table of the couple from Haus Mitte who were looking for peace and quiet. It should be understandable and clear to everyone that we want to avoid such or similar situations or even complaints. It’s no different in club hotels, family resorts, youth hostels and adults-only hotels.
What?
Comments on social media that were incomprehensible to us: “Not without my dog”, “No dogs allowed – and bye”, “Adults Only – cheek” or (our highlight) “No children allowed, hopefully no funding has flowed here”. What? Sure – on social media anyone can act like a Wilds without consequences…. restrained and unfortunately there is often a different tone here. That should be clear to everyone who advertises here. But when comments lack any common sense and are even just cheeky and disrespectful – that hurts and hits us personally. And it shows that people comment faster than they think and do research.
Therefore our appeal: Travel and let travel! There is a suitable type of accommodation for every need. There are great pet-friendly hosts for those traveling with dogs, and beautiful family accommodation for families. For every pot its lid, as the saying goes. And we assure you – we are really personable. Cross your heart! We simply chose this segment. And we also have top ratings. For example, we received the Traveler Review Award 2021 from Booking.com due to the outstanding reviews. The ratings on Google and other portals speak for themselves. But these words just had to be.
Oh, and no – we didn’t get any funding for our holiday home project. Not a single euro.
See you soon!
