At least as beautiful as the famous castles , but with a varied program – the Ehrenburg
Who knows the Ehrenburg?
It is about a 15-minute drive from the Mosel Chalets – well hidden – in the woods above the Ehrbachklamm 🌳
And what can we say – we were very enthusiastic when we visited them in the summer. The Ehrenburg, which also includes a small castle hotel and restaurant, has been privately owned since the 1990s and has been preserved, restored and rebuilt with private funds from the Friends of the Ehrenburg eV.
Events are regularly held at the castle. Theater performances, the “living castle” with many attractions for the whole family or the “courtly Tafeley” with a 4-course menu and a suitable supporting program 🪕🎭
We visited the living castle and the planned 2-3 hours turned into a whole day. Music, theatre, pottery, blacksmithing, woodwork, archery, the finest culinary delights and burger exploration. A really interesting program that the operators and members of the circle of friends realize with a lot of love and authenticity. If you want, you can combine the burger exploration with a hike around the Ehrbachklamm 🥾
The Ehrenburg is really worth a visit and a real insider tip alternative to the well -known sightseeing highlights , where you have to queue for 2 hours during the high season or expect overcrowding.
Please inform yourself in advance about visit possibilities and events. It is completely closed during the pandemic waves, but will be open again regularly and with all events from spring.
