Not without my dog - and other social media comments

A few frank words from us, in response to a few astonishing social media comments and why we decided to open our holiday homes on the Moselle for the “Adults Only” concept and against pets.

First of all about us:
Our small family business currently has two children under the age of 6, a teenager and a baby . We have lived with both dogs and cats. Even with guinea pigs. We love animals very much and are committed to animal welfare.
When we book a holiday ourselves (away from Corona, of course), we choose a farm holiday, a 5-star club hotel, private holiday accommodation and finally we rented a camper and
are with the kids at the Baltic Sea.

If we only want to travel as adults, we choose an adults-only hotel, maybe with a nice one Spa or great restaurant. Or we plan a short trip with friends – Keyword “mom time out . In the Mom Time Out we want one thing above all: a change from everyday life. Means:

Sleep, eat, drink, sleep, good conversations, a good book, maybe sightseeing, walks or wellness. And sleep. There are countless offers for every need, for every (travel) concern and for every taste .
And we are all free to choose what we feel like.
It would never occur to us to insult an Adults Only property on social media for not allowing children. We would never get upset about accommodations that explicitly only welcome guests with dogs. Or us in one
Family hotel complain about lack of rest. That just doesn’t make any sense.
So why did we choose adults only:
The Mosel Chalets are for younger children, due to the open design and natural wood, for example on the terrace
were used, not very suitable (danger of splintering if a child falls). The terraces have no railings, the galleries are open and only “secured” with a net. There is no playground at the house, no partition or fence to the street. The bedrooms are compact and there are not enough places to add baby beds. And since the houses are brand new, it was obvious for us to make them accessible to guests who have animal hair allergies, for example.
We didn’t want to deal with which dog breeds supposedly do not cause allergies or check whether the Müller family’s Rehpinscher actually only sleeps in the basket and (as promised) not in bed.
The three holiday homes are built directly next to each other and the sun terrace runs completely through in front of the three chalets. Of course there is a privacy screen to the neighbors, but the terrace is open. Especially nice: A group of up to 12 people can use the three chalets together and in summer they can have dinner at a long table on the sun terrace Enjoy while the sun slowly sets in the valley and bathes the landscape in a beautiful light. That is in By the way, what all guests love: the sunsets and natural spectacles with a good book, a glass of wine or good conversations with friends. It’s unfortunate when the lively dog from Haus Mosel meets the anxious child from Haus Berg. And that in front of the set table of the couple from Haus Mitte who were looking for peace and quiet. It should be understandable and clear to everyone that we want to avoid such or similar situations or even complaints . It’s no different in club hotels, family resorts, youth hostels and adults-only hotels.
Comments on social media that we don’t understand:
“Not without my dog”, “No dogs allowed – and goodbye”, “Adults Only – cheek ” or “No children allowed, hopefully no funding has been given here” are statements that remind us Facebook postings and ads sometimes reach. Sure – on social media anyone can act like a Wilds without consequences…. restrained and unfortunately there is often a different tone here and that should be clear to everyone who advertises here (and it is for us). But when comments lack any common sense and are even just cheeky and disrespectful – that hurts us and hits us personally. And it shows that people comment faster than they do research.
Therefore our appeal:
Travel and let travel! There is a suitable type of accommodation for every need. There are great pet-friendly hotels for traveling with dogs, great family accommodation for families, and for every pot its lid, as the saying goes. And we assure you – we are really likeable and neither child nor dog haters – we simply chose this niche. And we also have top ratings. For example, we received the Traveler Review Award 2021 from Booking.com due to the outstanding reviews. But these words just had to be.

And no, we didn’t get any funding. Not a single euro.

See you soon!
